About This Tool

This AI-powered research tool is designed to simplify and standardize common research procedures enabling for faster lit review and synthesis. It allows users to manage collections, upload and process research papers, and search through summarized articles using customizable filters.

Usage Instructions

  • Create a new collection with a given name.
  • Upload PDFs to the collection to extract and categorize content.
  • Use the spreadsheet view to read, compare, and filter article extracts.
  • See the database of articles summarized across all users on Lili and add relevant ones to your collections.

    • Pipelines

    Pipelines are a link with google drive folders that allow Lili to automatically process your PDFs and move them from a 'not summarized' folder to a 'summarized' folder. Create a pipeline by clicking the cog icon in the collection page and inputting the required URLs. Remember to also share the folders with the account above.

    Press 'run' to begin the background processing of your PDFs. Do not worry if nothing happens at first, if the button says 'running' it is working.

    Chat Tips

  • The more specific and succinct you are the more likely your query will be found.
  • Upload all your PDFs at once to ensure faster processing and immediate data access in chat.

    • When you chat with a collection it does not have access to the entire dataset all the time. Instead, it finds the 100 most relevant chunks of data to your query where a chunk is an entry for an article (ex: title, sample, etc). It does have access to total category counts for the collection and previous messages within that chat session, but only the chunks most similar to your latest query.

    Website is a Flask app with Firebase db and auth deployed from GitHub to Google Cloud Run.
